Andrade Response

I feel like if teachers cared a little more about their students then the students would feel more comfortable to come and be ready to learn in their class. However, teachers give off the impression that there just there for the money. Whether or not I would show up to a class in high school was determined on how boring the class was or how important I felt the class was. If teachers made an effort to make a connection with his/her students then they would first of all want to show up to class and secondly actually learn from the class. A teacher’s job is to teach and sometimes they need to put in more work besides lecture and demonstrate to actually “teach” and make a difference in the students life. In my opinion, getting to know your students as a teacher is important. I feel like if the teacher takes time to get to know their students it may make students aware of that and could possibly open their minds towards his teachings. The video made me realize that most of the time teachers are doing otherwise and are in fact doing what I call the “easy” way. I consider it being the easy way because they are not teaching to students for the right reasons which is to make sure they are actually teaching but rather they are just showing up to work. I can say it’s not right because if you don’t know your students then how will you find out if what you are “teaching” is being understood or even matters to any of them? Questions like; “how are you going?” “is everything going good in class or with yourself?” always mattered because I felt like those questions are sincere and also in my opinion would make me like the teacher. Most importantly building a connection with student will help your student feel like participating and open their minds to new things they will learn from you which can make a teachers life easier as well as the students. 1. Where we start to help unify the community? 2.What can be done to end the isolation in our community and work towards a positive future? 3.How do you implement this way of teaching in a bigger scale?
